Hi Michele, as long as they have shelter from the elements & a bed of hay they should be okay in the winter. As long as you have a few quails they will huddle togther at night for warmth in amongst the hay. I built a little wooden shelter for mine, but they prefer to sleep on a load of hay in a sheltered corner of the aviary. I also have an indoor section of my avairy, which is a shed, if it's really cold some of them choose to sleep in there. They are quite hardy for such small birds!!
