Subject: buttons with babies of other species

My buttons are at the bottom of my finch flight cage. The finches just had a clutch that hatched, and I've never had to deal with chicks. When they get older, if they tumble to the botoom of the aviary where the buttons are, do you think that the quail will let them be, or peck them to death?

I'm a little worried.
