Yeah, my birds really love it too. I normally grow mine in a tray of compost,but the wood shavings sound like a really good idea, and it would probably be easier for them to eat without the root going into dirt. I'll definately try that next time, what a great idea!!

I first noticed they liked it when I trimmed some grass for the birds to eat from the lawn next to the aviary & some seed that had blown out had sprouted. They all went mad over it!!

Watercress is also something my quails love to eat. You could just experiment with different things I guess & see what they like. If you discover a surefire hit with them you'll have to let us know, it's always nice to find new foods that they love!
