I had a similar thing recently when I bought a 'female', it wasn't until I noticed 'her' offering her mate a mealworm that I thought maybe Martha might in fact be Arthur so to speak lol sure enough I checked her underside & she'd developed red vent feathers. It's odd because she had no red feathers when I brought her home & paired her up with one of my males. I guess it's an easy mistake to make, though he's now stuck with a girls name lol
