Hi Holly,

Sometimes, quail just don't like each other. I had a few quail get sick this weekend, and I was moving the birds from cage to cage as the got better and sick. I exchange a couple, and put the sick female in with the other sick female, and then the healthy female in with the male, and the male started attacking her. Button quail are really 'moody', and if they don't like the other, they will get agressive.

If she is not agressive, and is getting along with the others, leave her. But if she is showing signs of agression, remove her right away. if you see any missing feather, that means they are getting pecked, and you should remove her. Hope I helped.

Thomas
