Hi Patricia, usually when incubating chicks, the eggs are placed in at one time, so as to not have them hatching more than a couple of days apart. That way, they would be OK to place in a brooder together. They need to be separated when they begin to fight. Usually a pair together (a male and female is best).

The coloring of the chicks does not have anything to do with sex. You'll need to wait about six weeks to found out their sexes. Usually a yellow coloring are white. It's difficult to tell with slightly darker. They could be silver or a cinnamon depending on the shade. Within six weeks to two months, the males will usually show themselves in their actions. Good luck with the babies! They grow really fast.
