Your current 100% rating will probably not not be affected. If your knee is also service-connected and you have the replacement surgery you will be given a temporary total (100%) rating for convalescence for 3 months. This may be extended for up to 6 months. Because you will have a single 100% rating plus additional SCd disabilities that combine to 60% or over, you will be entitled to Special Monthly Compensation paragraph (s). This is currently $2993 per month versus $2673 for a single vet rated 100%. Once the temp total is ended your disbilities should be reevaluated and you may or may not keep the SMC (s), depending on your new combined ratings.
