Every single day, I go to the BRN website and look up my license number to see if this has occurred. I don't wait for the mailman. I want to know NOW, and I want to know obsessively. I read through every single disciplinary file to see if there are any cases like mine. A relapse, but no impaired at work, no DUI, no diversion of meds from work. No proof of dangerous use. I am hoping and praying that without that kind of evidence, they will not be able to take action against me. But then there is my blog. Shit, Shit, Shit. In my blog,I absolutely rail against the BRN's diversion program, as some of you know. And now I worry that this evidence of my failure to be grateful for "every sting of the whip" will make them come after me just out of sheer vengeance. I fear and tremble everytime I go to the post office looking for that letter that says either: "Closed with/without merit," or the manila envelope delineating all of my transgressions against CA's nurse practice act, and inviting me to a hearing where I stand no chance in hell of defending my actions.
