I received an email from a nurse that I went to nursing school with. I have not stayed in contact with anybody from my nursing class, which has been 9 years now.

Anyway, I had a thought, but didn't know if I should proceed as I wasn't sure how it may be perceived. I was thinking of replying to the email with some general chit chat - how have you been; how's the work going; are you still at the same hospital - you get the idea.

Depending on how the email correspondence went, perhaps after a few back & forths, I would suggest meeting for lunch or after work. I know we'd get on the subject of nursing, of course. Well I would then tell her about what happened to me and that my license would be reinstated later on this year. My thought & hope here would be perhaps she could either help get me into the hospital where she is working, or suggest some local "recovery friendly" places.

I realize this may sound selfish. However, I would not mind rekindling an old acquintance. And with my nursing history, the economy, and the posts from this board on getting a job with licensure restrictions, I was just wondering what some thoughts were on this approach. Thanks.
