My job woes have seemed so endless that I have really wondered what was to become of me and my pets over the last few years. I stopped talking about it here and on allnurses because I figure peeps are sick of hearing about it. Plus the shame of unemployment is unbelieveable.

Anyhoo, I have been hired by a staffing company that has the corrections contract in my state and will be starting work in a penitentiary later this week. This is much more reliable income than the PRN health screenings that I have been doing to get by.

Whoo hoo! The furkids and I just might not end up homeless after all! (Furkids= my little daughter dog and two cats)

Plus, corrections are FILLED with drug addicts and the mentally ill so I will be with my people.

It is an added bonus that I won't have to deal with traveling and being a room mate to another screener. I had my first room mate last week (I have lucked out & been provided my own room up to now) It was a nightmare because she SNORED horribly and I was ill with fatigue the next day when I had a 10 hour shift to do.

Wish me luck!
