I have had two great jobs slip away in the past 2 weeks, the most recent one, yesterday! because I have two open charges for dui, one of them being a felony charge. It's so frustrating! My lawyer originally wanted to keep vollying them off in the future until 2008 because then the dui I was convicted of that year, 2008, would be past 5 years, a magical point between convictions, and should he not be able to have one or both of these more recent dui's dismissed or plead down, I wouldn't lose my driver's license for 10 years. If a person has 3 or more dui convictions within 5 years, it's an automatic loss of driving privlidges (sp) for 10 years! I saw my therapist/addictions person yesterday, and she informed me that ISNAP is going to support her in having me go through the IOP. UGH! It is what it is and I have no choice but to comply and I will keep a good attitude! I haven't received a contract yet, but suspect it should be arriving soon. As far as probation, the Isnap person said she thought the BON would put me on probation? Now like you said, I had spoken with nurses that said the diversion programs do protect your license from blemishes. so what was her reasoning I wonder? Wish I'd of asked her. This woman loves to talk, so I hesitate to call her unless I absolutely have to! If you don't mind me asking, what were/are your legal issues? Your process does sound like a crap load to go though. Sheesh... what an uphill climb this is going to be! What were your experiences in getting employed? If anyone out here has any advice on employment, like do I have a chance anywhere at being a nurse right now?? I'd sure like to hear from you PLEASE!
