I have done a little additional research and the California website say's there is no statue of limitations for "anything". So when they fingerprint you via Livescan; they will discover your history, that's why I think you should write a letter up front. Expungement I believe makes it look like you have your shit together and when you apply for work and they do a background check it will not be found.
