Subject: Neither Claire nor Jamie would condone adultry. Claire's fleeing was my expected response to the knowledge of Jamie's marriage. I've thought that was the basic reason Jamie didn't tell her about the marriage, he knew her well enough to know exactly what she'd do. For all her rationalizing about Frank's lovers, she didn't like nor condone being the betrayed wife, so regardless of who Jamie married, I can't imagine Claire wanting to be the other woman. Now, whether Claire would have gotten to the stones and re-thought the whole situation (like she did the first time Jamie took her to the stones), we'll never know.
