Subject: At this point he was still trying to deny and/or overcome his jealousy of Claire and I think it was very generous of John to tell Claire Jamie didn't love Geneva.

She obviously recognizes that Jamie and John have a close relationship, so she can see from this that there are parts of Jamie's life that are separate from her relationship with him.
