Subject: I listened to snippets of Outlander read by Davinia. I couldn't get into it at all. Don't like the sound of a woman doing Jamie's voice... or any other man. Sorry....
In reply to: ChrisS. 's message, "Got question for anyone who listens to "the books". Davina Porter has performed most of the Diana's books except for the Lord John Grey series, anybody know why they use someone else for the Lord John books? Davina does such an incredible job on the Outlander series that I am having a hard time listening to The Scottish Solider. I just can't get into the guy doing Jamie's voice." on 16:15:29 04/11/12 Wed

[> Thanks ladies! I knew I could count on you for an answer. I do agree that Jeff Woodman does a perfect job as Lord John, but to be truthful part of the reason I listen is to hear Jamie's voice and I am just not enjoying Rick Holmes version of Jamie. It sounds too nasally and young. I guess Davina has me spoiled. Oh weel, there are worse problems in the world, aye? -- ChrisS., 07:42:59 04/12/12 Thu

[> [> Chris - I don't think either Jeff Woodman or Rick Holmes gets Jamie right. Davina Porter's Jamie is much better, IMHO. -- Karen Henry, 15:44:46 04/12/12 Thu

[> [> [> I agree. Since I listened to Outlander, et al, before I read them, Davina's voice for Jamie IS Jamie's voice. *G* -- CathyS, 16:56:09 04/12/12 Thu
