• Both of these epilogues just gave me the chills. I always find it amusing that both of them though, are the cause of confusion and I've read so many questions concerning them. 1) Why does Bree say "who IS that?" when she see the name on the box and 2) the confusion about the fire dates...because the ABOSSA publishers didn't catch the real mistake before it went to press (very ironic if you ask me). • I do believe the miniatures in Claire’s dream in the spring of 1744 are the ones Brianna will paint 30 years later in the summer of 1774, though I couldn’t prove that from the text. The dream takes place in a lecture hall in London University, so [in the dream] Frank is lecturing about the portraits before he [in real life] knows anything about Jamie. • Even Diana doesn't think she's going to beat Dan Brown. And honestly...it doesn't matter. She's ALREADY a number-one NYT Bestselling author multiple times over.   • A follow-up thought: The DaVinci Code stayed in the top 15 of the NYT list (in hardcover) for more than 2 years. Dan Brown writes books that appeal broadly to both genders and a variety of ages, and people who will read the book because of the controversy they stir up. There have been two movies based on the Robert Langdon storyline, and that's also likely to garner readers. Lord knows I love the Outlander series and DG has accomplished great things, but I just don't think its even in the realm of possibility that she will, under any circumstances, beat out Dan Brown on the list.   • I've always loved that song, Janie! It seems like for most of the big events of our marriage, there's been a Bryan Adams song for it. "Everything I Do" was our first dance song at the wedding (don't you and your DH have that on your wedding rings?). "Let's Make a Night to Remember" brings back memories of a very fun anniversary :) Since we went on our first date 20 years ago this month, "You're Still Beautiful to Me" really rings true to us as we're together year after year. • i always think of jamie when i listen to this song... it sounds like an old Scottish tune.. to me, this is jamie and claire's song. it's different, because it's not a "love forever" type of song, more of a "love lost" song. even though jamie is tone-deaf, i imagine this song from his point of view after claire has gone through the stones, the battle at culloden is over, and he's home. • This is one of the imperfections about Jamie that I dismiss. He yells at Claire quite a bit, grabs her, bruises her (not on purpose), etc. I wouldn't stand for that type of behavior towards me in an instance...yet I barely acknowledge it when Jamie does it.     • In 25 years of marriage, and 31 years together, DH has never yelled at me. We've both raised our voices occassionally during arguments, which are even rare. He's never touched me in anger. I have heard him really yell at the kids, and I'm guilty of that, too. But not each other. I have Jamie on such a pedestal, and I have felt guilty about that in the past.       • Also, in the later books, they don't fight like this. This was their first fight, and it was because she had nearly got them both imprisoned and/or killed. He's very angry, and too young an inexperienced with the relationship to know how to vent it properly, so he grabs her too hard and yells at her. Of course she is doing her fair share of yelling, and I do recall she tries to give him a swift kick. I would imagine after all he's done, married her to save her, taken her cause & defended her to Dougal, and now gone & rescued her from BJR, for her to tell him that he doesn't ~care~ about her had to be the ultimate insult.       • To me, he has always been pure fiction (a great character, but fictional nonetheless), and while I enjoy thier story, I never fantasize about being with him. Being a woman back then really sucked and you couldn't pay me enough to go back to that time and give up the rights I have now. Jamie and Claire make a great story together...but no way would I want to live with him. I would wind up walking out or killing him-I have just as bad a temper. My DH is nothing like Jamie. Sounds more like conmama's DH. He is very even tempered, keeps his cool and I don't recal after knowing him 27 years and married for 23, that he ever raised his voice to me. The only time I ever saw him get really angry (for him) was at his parents when we told them we were going to get married. It actually scared me because he never did that before. • Considering that the family tree on Roger's wall has William Buccleigh MacKenzie's death listed as 1781, I think it's likely that Morag didn't do it. However, I think/hope we'll see him again...though not sure if in ECHO, which runs from 1776 to 1778. Even though he had Roger hanged, I don't really hate the man. After all, a man so fiercely in love with & protective of his wife & child...well, I still have a small soft spot for him. I am hopeful that we will see him redeem himself in some way, like sacrificing himself to save one of our Beloved Frasers or MacKenzies (who I still hope will go back). Some news to tell !!!

Herself has updates on her blog (see link above) with 2 more pages from the Graphic Novel, which finally has a titel - THE EXILE (An OUTLANDER graphic novel).

Furthermore, this is not only the month we will get the much wanted 7^th volume of our beloved series (and I do not think I have to show you that cover ;o), there are also a new French and a new Italian book - Une Odeur de Soufre (Lord John and the Hand of Devils) and La Croce di Fuoco (The Fiery Cross, part 1).
And while I was browsing around for updates I came across those two Frech-Canadian editions of the Lord John books.
