Not sure how these things happen with family members but they just do. You did what you thought was a good thing and obviously it was not appreciated. We all have to learn that we can't make a silk purse from a sows ear. My brother's wife has been alienating people for many years. Of the 5 sisters, I was the only one she kept in contact with and then, suddenly, for no reason apparent to me, I was on the 'bad' list with my sisters. Okay . . . so, we don't see or hear from them. I sent a check to my great-nephew for his high school graduation (I received an announcement/photo) and the thank you note was headed, 'Dear Mr & Mrs Stevens.' HUH???? Uncle & Aunt would have been fine. Ed & Cathy would have been fine. Yes, he knows us . . . it's only been a couple of years since we saw them and we spent Christmas with them every year for many years. Family is strange . . . . don't we all wish we had more of it? -- The Kirk
