Author: Alison CL (exasperated)
Subject: It is 0205 in the morning, eastern standard time...

It is as my title says... and I am still awake. Why? Because I have just finished reading "An Echo in the Bone." Of course now, I cannot sleep. I began reading the Outlander Series back in November, at the suggestion of a friend. She knows I am a fan of "series" books, from Nancy Drew and the Babysitters Club (as a child) to Harry Potter (as a mid-adult) to other series novels from authors like Nora Roberts, and am Irish-Scot (and German) by ancestry.

First off... I am broken hearted by what is happening to Bre, Jemmy, and Roger Mac at the end of this book. I can't get it out of my head, and part of me is so mad at them for falling for such an obvious trick, and part of me is so mad at DG for not finishing this storyline... I am glad to know that this cliffhanger means there will be a new book at some point, but I'm not sure I can wait 2 or 3 years or more! :-) I'm sure everyone feels this way, right? I'm not the only addict. I am kicking myself for not spacing the novels out. Reading 1-7 in the span of about 3 months was quite an accomplishment on my part. My husband HATED seeing me read these books at night (and in the car, and the doctors office, and...everywhere really), as it meant my attention was not on him. I told him if he grew a beard for me (his facial hair is red, even if his head is brown, much like I imagine William's to be), complimented my arse more (because it is rather nice), and wore a kilt more often, he would have my every attention. He has not yet obliged. His loss!

Anyway, by way of introduction, my name is Alison CL (Irish Maiden name, English married name). I am nearly 30 years old. I have two wonderful children, girl-4, boy-2. I am a stay at home mom, though not really by choice. I was laid off from my job as an environmental scientist in April. I live in Cincinnati, but was born and raised in North-Central Ohio right on Lake Erie. My husband and I have been married for 6 years now. You'd think he would be used to my obsessive reading habits by now. It's funny, we just vacationed in western North Carolina in October. We went to a family wedding in Asheville and stayed around to enjoy the area for a few days. Had I been obsessed with all things Fraser then, I'm sure I would have been looking for landmarks all over the place. Himself would have killed me! Oh... the wedding? The groom, a cousin of my husband, wore his kilt, and a good friend of his wore a full Highland tarten dress, and played his bagpipes for a hall of 200 people. It was WONDERFUL! Anyway, we often vacation in the southern Appalachians, mostly in Tennessee and North Carolina. We are very outdoorsey people, hiking, biking, exploring, etc. Next time we go there, you can bet I will be Outlander orientated.

So, I am looking forward to interacting with everyone! I will read more of the forums in the morning, as my flannel sheets are calling my name right now. I have lots of questions, but I will search the forums for my answers first.

Good night!
