Subject: Recently Re-hosed

Ok, I'm new here but I've been a DG fan since I first read DIA about 13 years ago. I found it in a box of books that I bought at a rummage sale for $1. I'm still wondering who would get rid of one of these books?! After The Fiery Cross I just kinda got caught up in my life, I was newly married, and DG wasn't on my mind as much (that said I still listed the Outlander series as my favorite books). Then a few months ago, I was in a bookstore to meet a friend (who never showed up) and while browsing I saw An Echo in the Bone on the shelf. I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw it. I looked in the front cover and noticed that I had missed another book, ABOSAA. So, I read those and caught up on the Lord John books I missed as well. Then I had to start back at the beginning with Outlander again. My DH is extremely annoyed when he sees me reading, so I find myself hiding my book when I here him coming. I sneak a few pages when he's in the shower. My kids are running wild (I have 2 boys ages 3 and 1). My housework suffers too. Jamie and Claire are like family to me. I never in my life thought that I could ever reread a book (because that would be a waste of time, I already know what happens) and yet I can't stop rereading these books. I am completely obsessed/Hosed. I am sooooo happy to find this site with hosers like myself :)

BTW, Oliver is my maiden name, you couldn't believe my excitement when I found out that the Olivers were a sept of the Fraser clan!

• Welcome back to the Diana Gabaldon family. You'll find plenty of folks just like yourself who are obsessed with the Outlander series. I don't think you can read her books just once. There are so many characters and scenes, sometimes it takes another reading just to get all the names and places. Join the discussions on the books board, it's a fun crowd. • Welcome Lady Oliver!! Reading while locked in the bathroom with the shower running works too! Ha! Ha! You could also invest in a portable CD player and get the unabridged versions on CD (free from the library) with headphones. This helps with the housework! As for your husband, try reading to him aloud from Outlander at bedtime until he gets hooked. I did that and my husband finally grabbed the book from me, saying "Here let me have that!   • Thanks for the helpful suggestions! I'll look for the CDs. Unfortunately my DH is not a reader. He doesn't understand how I can read a book more than once since he can't even watch the same movie twice.
