Subject: New to Lallybroch

Hello from Bonnie Scotland. I have been on he site a few times, but only just plucked up the courage to post a message. I have read the first 3 books of the outlander series so far, but have to say I was hooked after the first chapter of Cross stitch. My family, friends and colleagues are fed up hearing of Jamie and Claire and Lallybroch, but I don't seem to be fed up talking about them! They just don't understand, do they. The books were recommended by one of your own 'Hosers', as was this website, so thanks Karen for that. I feel lucky that living in Scotland, the places all so familiar to me and just on the doorstep (in a manner of speaking). Have been in the Highlands many times trudging through the heather and doing the odd bit climbing up the hills, and the reality is every bit as magical as the book portrays. It's funny, I just handed all my books into my local library where I work thinking, who needs to keep books when you can borrow anything you want free from there. But I have just ordered the Outlander series to have my own copies! This story seems to become quite personal. Was anyone else like me when they first read Cross stitch, and thought you didn't want to tell anyone about it cos you wanted to keep Jamie to yourself??? Or am I just a wee bit mad? Does anyone wonder just a wee bit if you really can get through the stones? Would anyone want to go???? Well, if I thought Jamie was there,..... and I could get a face lift and add on 6 inches....and get my hair permed and remove the grey....and change my name to Claire.....Ah....

• What a lucky lass ye are to live in bonnie Scotland. I'm looking forward to the day when I can set foot on Culloden Field. Have done research into some of the battles and events that Diana writes about in the books - what an incredible history to be found in Scotland. Never was interested until reading the books. Jamie is certainly the type of man you'd want to keep all to yourself if he were your own. But I'm glad Diana created him and has shared him with us, along with Claire.     • I just could not wait to find the Fraser marker. When I did, I got dreadfully sad and just sat down next to it and put my hand on it and closed my eyes. I left a red flower. It was the only marker I saw that day that had flowers in front of it. Yes, anyone that goes to Scotland and loves these Books has to go there. Welcome to the Broch!
