Subject: Finding my scottish roots

So I was searching for something on the internet that had absolutely nothing to do with the Outlander series and as usual, I looked up something Gaelic or having to do with something Claire and Jamie and hear I am! I poked around the site (great discussion about what would you do if you were in bed with Jamie and he let one fly by the way) and I feel like I have found my kindred spirits.

I have listened to (but not read) the Outlander series, and Lord John's mishaps many times (I am only 39 but have spent much have the last 4 years on and off bedrest). I started Outlander for honestly it's length (at the time I was on complete bedrest and one can take only so much Springer). I was hooked immediately. By the end of the month I had read the series and was starving for more and found Lord John. I ate those up in about a week's time and so I started again (I admit to throwing in some other period stuff to keep it interesting - Mary Queen of Scots was something else as was Queen Elizabeth but I digress). I am Scots myself and found through a recent search that my family name (Simpson) leads back to none other than clan Fraser. I prefer to think of it like Jamie and I are related (jk - I have a physical disability, not a mental one).

I am a mother of 4, ages 5, 6, 13 and 19 and have a wonderful DH who takes great care of the things I cannot. I think he has a bit of Jamie envy but he is of Scottish decent himself so his ego will not allow him to admit it. We live near Boston, but have spent time in Atlanta, New York, New Jersey and I originally from Northern Vermont.

I cannot wait to learn more about all of you and read more about all of your exploits. I have a roll of toilet paper at the ready should you find yourself needing one in the future.
