Subject: Hi Erica M! This series is great, isn't it? I read and enjoyed TOC. It gives insight into DG's writing process. I think if you know that going into it and don't expect it to be more of J&C's story then you'll like it. As for the LJG books, I've read them all and enjoyed them. I like mysteries though and have grown to like LJG more. I've enjoyed the later and longer books better than the earlier ones--DG seems at her best when she can write in more depth and detail.   • Welcome to Lallybroch, Erica M! Whether as a poster or a lurker, this is the place to come and pass the time until the next book is published - we never tire of Jamie and Claire et al! As for the Companion, I enjoyed reading it and have used it as a reference on a couple of occasions, but have not reread it cover to cover as I have The Books. I'm really enjoying the Lord John books, but I've always liked Lord John, more so now that I've gotten to "know" him better. Enjoy!
