Subject: Haha Monica, I just saw your comment about vampire porn below! When I mentioned Frenchman's Creek I was thinking how even without the explicit, 'steamy' nature of BDB and the Frost books (which I also liked), DuMaurier managed to get you to visualize the attraction between the pirate and Dona, and some of her double entendre's are very fun. I wonder if she was writing now if she'd spice her books up even more? Not that they need it, sometimes imagination is just as good as details :-) , but when you read an older book you do kind of realize how restrained the author's probably were by what was the social norm in literature, and now how almost anything goes.
