Subject: I just read it in April. I enjoyed a lot, but it didn't have DG's depth or character development. I learned a lot about China's history & rebellion - names I'd heard before but didn't really know who was fighting for what, etc. Glad to have the knowledge now & it helped me help DD prepare for an AP World History test at the same time :).
In reply to: Tess 's message, "Has anyone read THE RUSSIAN CONCUBINE, by Kate Furnivall? I just bought it at the book store. It's actually got a nice quote on the cover by Diana. Right now I am working my way through the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, all loaded up into my Kindle, but I needed a good poolside read for a trip coming up in a few weekends. It has 4 stars on Amazon, but I wanted to know if anyone here has read it." on 14:29:43 06/23/09 Tue

  • I read it while on a cruise last fall. It was perfect for that setting, not too taxing on the brain, but enjoyable. I should look into the sequel too. (NT) -- LT (Denise), 21:25:08 06/26/09 Fri
