Subject: I won't be reading this. I couldn't get into Anne Rice's "Beauty's Punishment" series either. Never saw "Pretty Woman" and never will. Jennifer Jason Leigh was offered the part before Julia Roberts. The producer said to JJL, re the drug-free hooker character, "She hasn't been doing it for very long (prostitution) so it's still a fun thing for her...." JJL knew that, talking to this guy who thinks a young woman is giving fifty dollar blow jobs in cars on Hollywood Blvd. because it's "fun," meant she had to get out of that office right away.
