Subject: We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver

Just finished this book. Such a great read. this book is so well written, I felt smart every time I picked it up! The story (as you might know from the movie trailers as it came out last week) is a bit disturbing to say the least...but there is no glorified violence in it. It is the story, written in a series of letters that explain and analyse this woman's life from the point that she decided to have a child, up until the point her child was arrested at the age of 15 for shooting students at his school. She recounts all of the doubts and worries and tell-tale signs she experienced raising this child as a way to heal and grieve and work out the incredible guilt and responsibility she feels. Amazing read, and I hear the movie is also amazing. Going to see it next week.
