Don't know who recommended this but have to thank you. This is such a wonderful, beautifully written book. The story held my attention completely and I found myself thinking about it when I wasn't able to read it. I love the east coast of Massachusetts and Martha's Vineyard so this was a perfect book for me. I have recommended it to my sister who lives in Massachusetts and I hope she enjoys it as much as I do. There is an afterward that was a perfect explanation of the story and the last sentence of that afterward is one I will carry with me for a long time.

I just finished the audiobook version read by Jennifer Ehle (Elizabeth Bennet in P&P/Colin Firth version, and Mrs. Logue in The King's Speech). Rarely is a voice so well matched to a story.
