WOW what a great read!!! I literally could not put it down and the story captured me from start to finish! It was a bargain book that had a recommendation from Herself on the front, which is what made up my mind (that and the description on the back).

The back cover doesn't even BEGIN to say how riveting this book is. The author weaves historical fact with fiction and real people with fictitious ones VERY well, much like another author we love so much. This book for me was one of the VERY few that can stand up as one I enjoyed and got lost in nearly as I do with Outlander. I am thrilled that the author has another book out and a third in 2012.

I bought this the other week at bookcloseouts after seeing it mentioned a couple of times here. I just finished it last night, I couldnt put it down either,what a fun read!!!!! I thought of it more of a fun fluff book, seeing that before this I read The October Horse about Caesar and Cleopatra and that was a bit battle heavy and lot's of words and names that end is IUS. *g* Also a good read more historical fiction than The Mistress of Rome, but TMofR was a page turner.
