It seems a lot of people are reading this either for the first time or again in preparation for the movie! I really enjoyed it when I read it a couple of years ago, even though I was crying, big ugly crying, at the end of the book! -- LOL Reading Recommendation Board

I loved TTW when I read it a few years ago, but I have a hard time recommending it to people b/c of the heartbreaking ending. People either love it or hate it. ... and some people (me) are just luke-warm about that book. It was very emotional and made be cry, but it took me a very long time to get used to the format of the book with all the jumping around. I'll be interested to see how that story translates on film. (NT) --

I remember from other discussions that I was in the minority when I said that TTW made me feel very uneasy and soiled. Even the cover with the juxtaposition of the man's and the child's shoes bothered me. However, the person to whom I gave it enjoyed the book.
