Just finished the Hunger Games trilogy by Sue Collins. Has anyone else read these books? It's written for young adults but it's a bit gruesome. Although I have to say when I was a teen I would have gobbled it up because I know my parents probably wouldn't want me reading it!
It's about a post apocalypse society where there are 12 districts living under one Capitol city. To show the citizens that the Capitol government means business, they hold a lottery where one boy and one girl are chosen to represent each district...in a fight to the death!
Crazy idea but man this was a great great book. There is love, death, suspense - all the great things we love! And of course a message. The second book, Catching Fire is a good continuation of the story but the third Mockingjay wasn't as great but I still gobbled it up to the very end. I finished all three in a week. Very easy to read.
