Subject: On a Highland Shore by Kathleen Givens - Just finished this great, quick read. Very historically accurate about Norse invasions of Skye, Ireland, the Outer Hebrides, and other Scottish villages. Yes, it is romantic and the storyline is not all that unusual, but the accuracy of the historic timeline is wonderful! As avid Scottish novel readers, romance and historical, you will recognize the names of kings, heroes, noted villians, and bad guys, and feel immersed in the struggle for revenge and justice. The love story is good too....an auld woman with the "sight" and a family of colorful characters. Of course, the heroine is strong and beautiful, but most of us that read these kind of books are used to that. What handsome Viking or Scot would fall for a homely, sniveling woman, aye? I will look for more of Ms. Given's books. I think there is a sequel to this one, but not sure yet.
