Subject: Yes I do Kirsten. It's a bit different to the first two books. The third book follows their marriage and how they come to terms with their traumatic war time experiences and find a place for themselves in post war USA. I enjoyed following their marriage mature and thought the author described it rather well, dare I say it, I think she was better than DG at depicting a maturing marriage.

  • I agree with Albion - I really liked The Summer Garden. I think some of the mixed reviews have to do with it not being a 'happily ever after' type of story right from page one. But considering everything they went through in the first 2 books, I think the way their story continues made perfect sense, and made them feel even more real to me. I remember being absolutely caught up in this book - and wishing I could have stepped inside it from time to time to shake some sense into either Shura or Tatiana! • I recommend The Summer Garden if you liked the first two, but I could have done without all the Viet Nam and the StarWars stuff - but that might mean more to an American reader. (NT) -- jayn, 07:56:47 08/02/10 Mon
