Subject: House at Harcourt by Anita Burgh

Just randomly picked this up at the library and it was so good! I love when that happens! Eliza is the main character in this book set in the late 1800's. She the daughter of a well to-do businessman who is raised by her nanny and governess after her mother dies in childbirth (so she is told) Her father resents her and is virtually ignored and shut away at Harcourt. Things eventually unravel when she falls in love with a tenants son. This book also focuses on her governess Fanny who has an equally awesome side story when she is sacked by the father when she rejects his advances. Eventually Fanny and Eliza cross paths again. Lots of great drama and a page turner!
