  • The ending was rather anticlimactic. I keep finding myself wondering what Aibileen's (sp?) new beginning would turn into. Would she move north? Move out of town? Go to New York? Work with the civil rights movement? I felt like the loose ends were tied up, and I was very pleased with Minny's ending - mutual respect and appreciation, I think.     • Agreed. Also, I am the last person to want the girl to always ride off into the sunset with the guy - it really bugs me a book ends with a strong women being happily alone and then the sequel comes and she finds a man and, finally, true happiness. But in The Help I really wanted the two (gee, I'm losing it, I can't remember their names, but the writer and the Senator's son) to end up together. I guess I wanted him to be the good guy and accept her for what she is whether or not he agrees with her position. This is a book that needs a sequel. (NT) -- jayn, 07:28:03 09/05/10 Sun

• Loved this book. Only problem for me it brought so many memories of the time growing up in the 60's. It again made me realize just what was going on then and how far we have come. I'm like you Lady Cate...it kind of left things hanging for all 3 main characters but after reading about the Author I think there may be another book in the works.
