Subject: Hi Holly I'd say Gwen but it would just confuse this thread even more ;-) I live in the South of Wales which is beautiful in itself but not as spectacular as the North with the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia and its stunning coastline. The ruined castles of Beaumaris and Dolwyddelan, Caernarfon Conwy and Harlech to name but a few. Its difficult to say really as there are lovely things to see throughout Wales. Cardiff itself (in the South) is a lovely city with its castle right in the centre, but if you are thinking of Sharon's trilogy I'd say the North is where you need to go. Having said that if someone has the time, the drive up through Wales from South to North is lovely in itself and you pass through Llanelwydd which is where Llewelyn ap Gruffudd lost his life. Albion and Iona will have more suggestions about the North than me as I don't know the area as well as the South. If you did come some day please let me know as I'd love to join you at some point.
In reply to: HollyC 's message, "Gwen, this is off the pronunciation topic, but I'm a bit curious (see Here Be Dragons post below) if there are a few must see places you would recommend to visit to get a flavor of medieval Wales? Or just anything you think a visitor shouldn't miss." on 05:43:26 05/14/10 Fri
