Subject: A while ago Diana posted about the Dana Stabenow books, particularly the Kate Shugak and the Liam Campbell series, they are police/crime mystery stories with the emphasis on the characters rather than the crime or the mystery. Just a mention that, on Diana's recommendation, I tried a couple and I've been enjoying them. They are pretty short, a weekend read for most avid readers used to DG, and not complicated, good beach books. One caveat, if you read them out of order they can be a bit confusing, and it's hard to find the correct order, the 'other books by' thingy isn't in any order at all. I've put the correct order in the first reply if you're interested. These are 'cheapie' type paperbacks and most of the old ones are long gone from the bookstores but I've had good luck at used stores.
