Subject: I stayed up late on Monday night to watch this. I almost wish I'd skipped the Superbowl to watch it Sunday night (disappointed Pats fan here!). I missed the first 15 minutes, but I thought it was a good account of Jane's last years. This Jane is as witty and flirtatious as her letters, and was played beautifully by Olivia Williams, whom Janeites will recognize as Jane Fairfax from "Emma". The program dwelt on Jane's missed opportunities for love, funny how people think her life was a failure because she never married. What about all those wonderful books she wrote? I guess they needed to dwell on something since there aren't a lot of other big events in her life. As the previous poster said, not as fun as a real Jane movie, but not bad.
In reply to: CathyS 's message, "Hey Reilly, I haven't watched it yet but I DVR'd it. I'm pretty sure I can tape it (VHS). If you want it, I can try it and send it to you if it works. Let me know." on 18:45:40 02/04/08 Mon
