Author: Winterstale (Ack!)
Subject: Hello and Help Needed From a Font of DG Wisdom For a Verra Good Cause!

Greetings LOLers! I'm reposting here at the suggestion of LadyJenF who thinks I might garner a bit more notice on this and the social boards. Please excuse my triple post! : )

I've been a fan of DGs since 2003 but have never really perused any sort of online community involvement, mostly because I've felt intimidated by so many of the old-school LOLers who are so amazingly articulate and have an encyclopedic knowledge of The Books that I unfortunately don't possess.

Now, please don't make any Scottish noises or roll your eyes. I am also a writer of Twilight fanfiction. I know...I've heard it all before. The stories I write are focused on Emmett McCarty, not Edward Masen Cullen, so maybe I could get a pass from all of you for at least writing a good Scotch-Irish boy as my main focus?! ; )

I participate every few months in a charitable fanfic author auction called Support Stacie. Stacie was diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer as she was in the probationary period at her new job, leaving her uninsured and seriously ill. This group has found a unique was to give assistance to Stacie and also produce 'made to order' fanfic for the auction winners. Fanfic authors from various fandoms (Harry Potter, Twilight, Southern Vampire Mysteries, Dr. Who, etc) all offer their services to the highest bidder and donate the proceeds to Stacie's ongoing treatment.

Weeeeel....I met my auction winner earlier this year and we discovered we share a love of all things Jamie. The wee sneak has requested a Jamie/Emmett story. Now this will NOT be slash - I don't write it and think it doesn't work for these particular characters. I will be writing a character-driven piece with a series of encounters between Jamie and Emmett in the southern Appalachian Highlands as Em grows up. So no lemons, lots of Jamie wisdom, maybe a bit of discussion about women as young Em matures.

I need a resource for background info. I do not have the time to go back and check for some details from Voyager and Firey Cross and really would appreciate a living Outlandish Lexicon of sorts who I could run things by for plausibility. I have Beta readers but unfortunately they have not read Outlander (I know...I'm trying to entice them)
and as Mags does know The Books quite well, I want to make sure I get her story right.

If anyone is willing to have a go or even act as a pre-reader when I have the story written, I would be forever grateful! I do publish on fanfiction.net and will give full credit to you for the picking of your brains!

If there are any Twi fans out there in LOL-land it would be a huge bonus! I know, it's Twilight, but I've been saying for ages that the Twilight story would have been remarkable had it been in DGs hands. I don't feel precious at all about the Twilight books and you'll find I am not a hard and fast canon-ista when it comes to Emmett (poor guy barely has a story in canon anyway). No rigidity here! Now, when it comes to Jamie, I feel DG can do no wrong and want to write as close to canon as possible.

Please contact me here or at jezabelle244@hotmail.com
You can find my work on fanfiction.net under the penname winterstale in the event you'd like to check my bona fides before proceeding.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope to hear from someone who is interested in having a bit of a laugh and doing something nice for a lady in need.

Ta verra much,
winterstale
