Yes, I liked Tristan right from the start, and found Isolde rather babyish and annoying. It never occurred to me that Tristan and Branwen might have become a couple except for the potion, though.(I found the whole love potion thing rather unbelievable, but I guess that's part of the legend.)

I liked Marc'h a lot too. It's always interesting when people try to pin legends down to real events, but it can be tricky, and sometimes I think we're better off just enjoying the stories. Diana Paxson did a good job with this one, though - except for all those confusing names!
