Subject: Excellent points susiej. Especially the description of the violent relationship of Old Ian and Jenny feels odd. How on earth could a crippled man get a sense of power by whipping his wife, with whom they're gone through heaven and hell to survive? Not plausible, doesn't fit the characters!!
