Subject: I was just thinking for a moment about Claire and her timeless quality- she doesn't really belong to any one time. Even when we first meet her she seemed with her language and sexual forwardness to be ahead of her time- is it because she is written by a modern woman? Then when she returns and has Bree she raises her differently than women of that time- Claire nurses for example- is that again her progressive instinct or some pull from the past- same can be said for that early scene where she wore no panties to be with frank- did that come from her past? I'm always laughing at how easy it is for them and thinking underwear is overated.
In reply to: susiej 's message, "very interesting idea Helka, especially when looked at in the light of Roger's experience and carrying it even farther the fact that both Bree and Claire are somewhat "masculine" for women of Jamie's time- Claire has her medical career, Bree is an engineer/inventor and has a sideline as an artist- they are both earning- both outspoken, etc." on 09:04:03 04/18/08 Fri
