Subject: OK, I'll get it started again. I like him best when Claire returns to him, when he was about 45 (my age now). I liked Outlander story best (and oddly enough Voyager not at all), but I think it's because of my own age and maturity that I prefer him then. The young Jamie was nice, but I can relate better to a more mature, seasoned man. Truthfully, as great a character as he is, I'm sure no man of that time period acted that way...as an older man he seems more like a modern man. I think that is probably the biggest thing for me.

This takes a lot of thought for me because there are wonderful characteristics in younger Jamie, such as his vigorous lovemaking and his wonderfully witty humor. Older Jamie really turns me on because he has experienced life, is comfortable enough to let some of his vulnerabilities show through, and I like that he has his family gathered around him and has some years of peace.
