Subject: Jamie is very entertaining and scrumptious when he is young, but I prefer the older and wiser Jamie. By that time he has lived through many challenges, loved and lost, traveled, led men, been imprisoned, etc., but his character just continues to grow. I find him much more interesting as a middle age man. Love his fatherly and grandfatherly moments!

But when I think of Jamie, I think of him at about 50-55, probably because I am 51. You know, though, it's just as Claire remarks in Voyager--you see the person and the old image you had of them blends with the new and "poof!" I can hardly separate them from one another when I start the next book. I know it sounds kind of bizarre (well, maybe not to you all {G}) but the stories are so familiar to me that choosing an age at which I prefer these characters would be like saying I loved my husband better when we were first married.
