Although I had made several visits to Scotland, you see I am married to a devout golfer, my time there had always been spent with my heritage. Having met my Clan Chief and attended several gatherings my interest has grown deeper in the study of the Gaels. I had been a lever harp player and loved the traditional music. To help me along with my Gaelic I had started taking Scottish Gaidhlig lessons.

So with great sense of adventure I set off this last summer to attend the Gaelic college, Sàbhal mor Ostaig on the Isle of Skye. (An t-Eilean Sgitheanach) Two weeks of Gaidhlig and a week of clarsach. What a dream. Whilst poking through the fine library at the college I ran across a couple of Diana's books. The ladies of Scottie land do read them. Of course they were in *nglish. But certainly, my further education has made the bits of Gaidhlig in her books have a better meaning....

To anyone who has a dream to do such a thing I give you my whole hearted support. It was a wonderful experience and the free moments I had I traveled around to visit the island. Even the weather co-operated. By the way did I say I did this by myself and while alone I never was lonely. There is something in the air in that country. It whispers sweet thoughts and melodies in your ear to keep you company. (tha bi mi a dol ann Alba a rithst)
