A new cashier is working at the Mega-Store. A trainer instructs him, "Your job is to push the merchandise. Watch to see how it's done."

A man approaches the cashier with a bag of fertilizer and a bag of grass seed. The trainer says, "Would you like to buy a lawnmower?" The customer says, "Gee, I don't know." The trainer says, "Well, that's some high quality grass seed you've got there, and some great fertilizer, so once that grass starts growing, it'll need to be cut a lot." "I never thought of that," the customer says, and a short while later he's the proud owner of a new lawnmower.

"I think I got it," the trainee says. A man approaches the cashier's counter with a gallon of ice cream and a box of tampons. The trainee says, "You want a lawnmower to go with that?" The trainer and the customer exchange funny looks. The trainee explains, "It looks like your weekend's shot, so you might as well mow the lawn."
