Subject: Happy B-Day to my Favorite Author!

Diana, here's hoping that you have a lovely birthday! I am in awe of your writing talent! Since discovering your books, I have spent quiet evenings in my big, comfy rocking chair, lost in the world of Jamie and Claire and oblivious to the inane TV programs that my family enjoys....they are watching "Survivor" as I type this message...mon dieu! (she raises her chin and looks down her nose, ala Fergus) I even have to thank you for being the impetus behind my recieving an excellent Christmas present from the DH for once. I recieved silky, red plaid jammies instead of an electric pepper mill (I can grind those lil' peppercorns on my own, thank you) or some other 'practical' kitchen gadget. Huzzah, Diana!
