Having faced the I don't know what to post dilemma myself, I think secretly deep down, you know which one you want to share. So here's my take. You call it the chapter that never ends. You split it into four. For me, it seems that you are obsessed with whatever happens in that/those chapters. Not that I don't understand that. *G* But...here's my thought. Why would I want to read something that comes second in your mind to those 72 pages (which if I do the math is only 289 words per page)? So, m'dear, the question I have for you is this - What do you think _I_ want to read? And which 2000 of those 20000 words would give me the best reaction? The climax of the scene is in there somewhere right?

Your story. Your choice.

Obsession is to damn it with faint praise. *G* Those 72 pages took over my whole life, waking and sleeping. But when I finished them, it's as if a bell resonated somewhere inside me, and, looking toward what happens on down the line, I knew why this part was so important. I truly believe it's going to be that part the reader will remember when the crappola hits the fan later in the book, when they'll sit up and say, "He told her! She knew! Why didn't she listen?"

And the climax of the scene? It's not at the end of those 72 pages, it's more in the middle. And though it might not read that way the first time through, it will, I hope, resonate later. So that's what I'll post.

Good heavens, woman, you do make me think! And, after having thunk (that is, too, a word), do a happy dance! Thank you!!

Hugs,
Page
