Thanks! I've not been quite the same situation, but I have come close to getting struck by lightning when I was about 14. Got caught in it horseback riding, hauled ass home, stripped the tack off the mare and threw her in the pasture and was reaching for the front door of the mobile home we were living in at the time. The hair on the back of neck stood up, static arced from the doorknob to my hand and a pine tree about 20 feet away had a long strip sliced out of it. I stood on the front porch and screamed for my mom to open the door and I think I teleported inside when she did!
Good point on the light. I only mentioned it once, but it was definitely that funky greenish storm light you get when it's really bad, like a hurricane, or a typical Florida afternoon thunderstorm...
Nice detail to know about the leather seats; of course this would have been after he and the cat would have bled all over the inside so I'm guessing he had the car detailed, or, knowing the reactions of many people when having to deal with blood, did it himself.
I appreciate your enthusiasm and suggestions!
