I was enchanted by the thought of taking a peek into Katie Carey's purse! Let's see what she's lugging around:

Bonne Bell Lipsmacker, strawberry

half a pack of Dentyne gum

a compact with pressed powder

Visine eyedrops

hairbrush

three ponytail holders

a small bottle of her own perfume, specially blended for her by Maureen

a tube of unscented Jergen's lotion

two cassette tapes, one of Shadowed Knight's last album, and one of Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti

a keyring with keys to the house, Jay's Bentley, her own yellow Jaguar, Maureen's house, and one key that she can't remember what it goes to

a brown leather wallet

a pocket calendar that she keeps forgetting to write in

a small address book with phone numbers

a receipt for a sage-green sweater she bought on Carnaby Street

the tags she pulled off the sweater when she wore it out of the store

a small picture frame with this picture of Jay

three loose pence

two pens, only one of which works

a pair of silver hoop earrings

a battered empty airline ticket folder

a pair of sunglasses with white frames

a purple tank top

a white plastic Bic lighter

a small spiral notebook in which she jots ideas for lyrics

a small pink vinyl bag containing a pressed pink tulip
