Subject: my uncles war time jeep experiance

my uncle once told me a tale from his 2nd world war service in italy.
knowing of my interest of the 2nd world war and 4x4 vehicles my uncle (he sadly died a few days back)
told me of the time he was delevering some brand new jeeps
they were brand new just shipped in.

my uncle said it was a cracking drive.
after a fair bit of driving they stopped to refuel
my uncle ended up last in the covoy.
he had wanted to be the last in the line.
after they started driving again he would drop back a little so he could gas it ,to see what it would do.
this jeep was performing very well he dropped back a little further and gased it some more .

they came to a y junction some went right some left the rest just stopped my uncle came round a ben to see this .
he didnt have quite enogh time to stop.
a few jeeps were slighty damged lol
as my uncle told me i could see his joy and it was a happy memory i think.
he then went to tell me as they progressed on the drive they were waved past by some american mp`s.
the road was a dead end when they returned to the turning, the american mps had gone.
my uncle said that he later found out there was no american mps in the area.

my uncle told me a few more tales but no more jeep related :(
i enjoyed the few war talks we had .

i happened on this site by accident
so i thought i would tell the tale my uncle joe told me.
as he is unable to tell it now (he recently died rip joe)
i thought here would be a good place to leave his memory of a jeep in service.
